FIFA Suspends Ivorian Federation Election Following Drogba’s Disqualification

Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has suspended all actions relating to the Ivory Coast Football Federation election on Friday August 28, following the disqualification of former Chelsea legend and striker Didier Drogba.

FIF rejected Drogba’s candidacy on the basis that out of a required official support of four Ivorian clubs, he had received only two.

“Drogba’s staff isn’t surprised by this decision to reject the bid. But we remain unfazed. We will react to conform to the texts which surround this election,” Mahamadou Sangare, a member of Drogba’s team, told newsmen.

However, in a document released by FIFA, the election has now been suspended until further notice

“We request the suspension of all action in relation to the election process until further notice.”Drogba
